Every so often your island will be graced with a visitor. While it’s possible to earn new wallpaper as a gift from Wisp or Gulliver, you’ll really want to be on the lookout for Saharah. This lovable camel will randomly appear on your island selling all manner of rugs, flooring, and wallpaper. You can purchase “Mysterious Wallpaper” for 3,000 Bells, or you can trade in tickets you’ve earned from purchasing rugs. Five tickets will net you a free set of wallpaper of flooring.
Timmy and Tommy’s inventory changes on a daily basis, including their wallpaper selection. There are usually several options available to chose from and they span a wide range of prices. You can also pick out some nice flooring and furniture while you’re there to help bring your designs to life. This is the best way to slowly acquire a wide array of wallpaper. They usually don’t have anything that is too rare, but they offer a fine selection of styles that appeal to all tastes.
If you’re willing to give a gift to some of the other villagers on your island, they might be kind enough to return the favor. This one is a bit of a gamble, as you never know what they will give you in return — if anything at all — but if you’ve already tried everything else you might as well give it a shot.
It’s also possible to find your own DIY recipes for wallpaper as you play New Horizons. There’s no surefire way to find them, so you’ll want to open every message bottle you come across and shoot down every balloon floating in the sky.
